Welcome to Lipsync ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our video lip sync and audio matching services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

  • Name and email address when you create an account
  • Profile information you choose to provide
  • Payment information if you make any purchases (processed securely through our payment processors)
  • Communications with us through support channels

2.2 Usage Data

  • IP address and browser information
  • Pages visited and time spent on the site
  • Device information and operating system
  • Interaction with site features and content

2.3 User-Generated Content

  • Videos and audio files you upload for lip sync
  • Generated lip-synced videos
  • Comments, ratings, and other interactions with content
  • Content descriptions and metadata you provide

2.4 Google Sign-In and Google user data

This section describes how Lipsync (Lipsync Studio) at lipsync.studio handles Google user data and takes precedence over general descriptions elsewhere in this policy for that data.

  • Access and collection: If you choose Google Sign-In or Google One Tap, we receive your Google account identifier, name, email address, email verification status, and profile picture URL, where provided. Our sign-in requests only the openid, email, and profile permissions. It does not request access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, or calendars. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Use: We use this information to verify your identity, create or link your Lipsync account, maintain sign-in sessions, display your profile, associate your account with credits and services, provide account support, and prevent abuse. Google account data obtained through sign-in is not used for advertising or to train generalized AI or machine-learning models, and is not sold.
  • Storage and protection: We store profile and account-linking data in our database. Depending on the sign-in method and what Google returns, we also store OAuth access tokens, ID tokens, any refresh token provided, and related expiry and permission information. Sign-in data is transmitted over HTTPS; server-side credentials, authentication checks, and access controls protect access to account records and tokens.
  • Sharing: Google processes authentication. Our infrastructure providers, including Vercel (application hosting), Supabase (database), and Cloudflare (network delivery and security), process the data needed to operate these services. Authorized personnel may access it for support and security. Other disclosures are limited to your consent, legal requirements, or preventing fraud and abuse. We do not provide Google sign-in data to AI model providers for model training. Media you separately upload for generation is covered by the other sections of this policy.
  • Retention and deletion: We retain Google profile, account-linking, and stored authentication data for as long as needed to operate your account and provide these functions. To request access, correction, or deletion of your account and associated Google data, email support@lipsync.studio. After verifying your identity, we process the request and delete data no longer needed, except records that must be retained for legal obligations, security, or dispute resolution. Token expiry does not itself delete stored account records.
  • Revoking access: You can remove Lipsync's access in your Google Account connections. Revocation stops further access under that authorization, but does not automatically delete your Lipsync account or data already stored by us; use the deletion contact above for that.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain our lip sync service
  • Improve and personalize your experience
  • Process and fulfill your video sync requests
  • Communicate with you about our service
  • Send important notices and updates
  • Prevent, detect, and investigate potential prohibited or illegal activities
  • Ensure the security and integrity of our platform

4. User-Generated Content

4.1 Content Ownership

  • You retain ownership of the videos and audio files you upload
  • You grant us a license to process, host, and share your uploaded content according to your sharing preferences
  • AI-generated lip-synced content through our platform is subject to our terms of service

4.2 Content Moderation

  • We reserve the right to review and moderate uploaded content
  • Content that violates our terms of service may be removed
  • We may implement automated filtering systems to detect prohibited content

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following situations:

  • With your explicit consent
  • With service providers who assist in operating our platform (see Section 11 – International Data Transfers for details)
  • To comply with legal obligations
  • To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property
  • In connection with a business transfer or merger
  • When content is shared publicly according to your settings

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

Uploaded and generated media are automatically deleted within 7 days of upload or generation.

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
  • Displaying a notice on our website

The "Last Updated" date will be updated at the top of this page.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our core infrastructure is hosted. We rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other appropriate safeguards to ensure that such transfers provide a level of data protection consistent with EU/EEA requirements. We have also performed an internal Transfer Impact Assessment (TIA) to confirm that these safeguards adequately protect EU personal data.

To provide our services, we engage carefully selected service providers who process personal data on our behalf:

These agreements are automatically incorporated into our service contracts and do not require additional signatures to be valid.
